Gary Lukasiewicz is a senior in high school.He’s four weeks from graduation.He’s also fighting cancer. For the 2nd time. This time, he’s in hospice. In an effort to put a smile on Gary’s face and show him the power of hope, prayer, and community; students and alumni from Gary’s high school came together to create #keepfightinggary. Within 24 hours the topic was tweeted over 10,500 times reaching millions of people. As the tweets continue to pour in from celebrities, community members, and students across the world, we continue on our journey to get #keepfightinggary trending on Twitter. To accomplish this goal we need to reach the major influencers on Twitter. The more people that reach out to them, the more likely they will help. Here’s the plan: We need as many people as possible to tweet the following at these top inflencers on Twitter: Tweet: <Name> please help trend #keepfightinggary for an 18 year old boy from Scranton, Pa. He’s in hospice battling cancer for the 2nd time. People:1. @aplusk2. @OMGFacts3. @MCHammer3. @feliciaday4. @ev5. @ijustine6. @MariMoon7. @Sacca8. @kevinrose9. @danielbru10. @Chad_Hurley11. @Pinterest12. @jess13. @rsarver14. @bs15. @davemorin16. @bfeld17. @parislemon18. @RickBakas19. @Alexia20. @jeff21. @dens22. @hunterwalk23. @ladygaga24. @justinbieber25. @katyperry26. @rihanna27. @britneyspears28. @youtube29. @selenagomez30. @kaka31. @TheEllenShow32. @Oprah33. @Pink34. @Twitpic35. @Drake36. @ParisHilton37. @RyanSeacrest38. @JLo39. @ConanOBrien40. @Shaq

Single-Serving Site of the Day: More than 4,000 street portraits have been taken for the Humans of New York Project, “an effort to create a photographic census of the city of New York.”
A highlight from the Tumblr:

I found this man on 7th Avenue in Park Slope. He was leaning heavily on his cane, looking down, wearing a grimaced face. I felt bad for him, so I smiled and waved when I walked past. His face changed completely. He lit up, smiled wide, and gave me a cheery greeting. There was nothing forced about it. He seemed like a man who went through life looking for the smallest excuses to be happy.
I walked 50 feet down the sidewalk, turned around, and walked back to him. “I want to take your photo,” I told him, “because of how big you smiled when I walked by.”
He said: “Well I saw someone smiling at me who I didn’t even know. So I thought: ‘By God! I Better do something!’”

This is absolutely terrifying. Just look at it, it is so real and astonishing. You need to reblog this. I don’t care if you’re used to reblogging orange, teenage girls with vans on. I don’t care if you’re used to reblogging vintage or photography. This is real. You can even see the fury in his eyes. The tense muscles in between his fingers. The heavy breathing.

reblog this. NOW.

in all seriousness though

M..my heart just stopped… ;~;

Guys, you’ve got to reblog this. It’s reality and it needs to be brought to everyone’s attention.

I lost a friend to this kind of harassment. I really don’t want to remind myself of everything that happened so I won’t say a word about it. All I will say is, he was one of my best friends and the kindest person I had ever known. The pain I went through after his death was indescribable. I want you all to know that it’s not easing knowing that someone you love had such thoughts that they didn’t deserve living anymore. I’m not good with words at all so please excuse this lousy paragraph I have attempted to write to move you. I am serious though. Don’t ignore this.

i’m going to reblog forever.

This kills me, please stop this.

it seriously hurts to know people say this

how the fuck could you possibly send someone hate, or make rude comments when you know all to well that this could be the outcome, makes me sick. somebody please stop this from happening.

ALRIGHT STOP SCROLLING RIGHT NOW. REBLOG THIS. I DON’T CARE IF YOU ARE A HIPSTER, SUMMER, PHOTOGRAPHY, BOHO, SURF, WHATEVER BLOG. REBLOG THIS.

watch what you say.

You know what’s sad? Even though this is horribly devastating, those people who send those anon messages don’t care. Get it through your head that your words hurt, and you’re an ugly person for doing it.
